We have some exciting news to share with our community! We are thrilled to announce that CommMiniBus has been awarded a grant from the Community Tech Fund to address a pressing challenge that we have been facing. This grant is a significant milestone in our journey to better serve our community, and we can’t wait to get started.
In the course of our operations, we have encountered a complex challenge. Coordinating transport services efficiently while ensuring accurate bookings and record keeping, vehicle and driver management and compliance with strict regulations has become increasingly demanding. Our staff and dedicated volunteers work tirelessly, but the manual generation of various reports, including passenger lists, driver duties, and vehicle logs, consumes valuable time and leaves room for potential errors. These issues impact not only usbut also our drivers and passengers, hindering our ability to provide the best service possible.
The Grant and What It Means:
The Community Tech Fund recognised the importance of addressing this challenge and has granted us the opportunity to explore and develop a customised tech solution. This solution will revolutionise our processes, making them more efficient, accurate, and user-friendly. By automating manual tasks, we will free up valuable staff hours that can be reinvested into improving the quality of our services and expanding our community outreach.
Our journey to explore and develop this tech solution will be guided by transparency, collaboration, and a commitment to our community. We’ll leverage the expertise of our tech-savvy interns and our network of overseas contacts in programming. Together, we’ll explore various avenues, conduct prototypes, and seek feedback to create a solution that truly meets our needs.
The Discovery Phase (October to December):
From October to December, we will enter the discovery phase of this exciting project. During this time, we will conduct in-depth research to fully understand the challenges we face. We will engage with our community and speak directly to users of the technology to gain insights into their needs and preferences. This user-centric approach will guide our product design and development process.
