As mentioned before, our community bus service has been impacted by the lock-down measure as well as vandalism. While we tried our very best to tackle the challenges, we’re still unable to resume the service due to a shortage of parts and insufficient demand for the service.
We understand that many of our users are concerned about the virus restrictions and that social engagement has affected Coffee Club and the group activities at The Centre.
However, without adequate support we’re unable to operate the service bearing in mind that the next Thursdays are Christmas Eve and New Year’s eve, which we think many of you will prefer staying at home, I regret to announce a suspension of all remaining Mawsley service in December.
Please note that the service is still available for group-booking (with more than 8 passengers travelling together) and we’ll try our best to operate where demand exists. Meanwhile, we will work with Mawsley Bus User Group to draw up a plan for 2021, which will be announced in due course.
2020 is challenging for everyone. Not only have we lost the freedom of getting out of our home, but also the associated socialisation and physical exercises which are vital for our health and wellbeing and the Community Bus is amongst the main factors behind our commitment and endeavors to the special community within Mawsley.
In the meantime, take care and stay safe, with my Best Wishes for Christmas and New Year.
